a break

I'm now officially in the home stretch, busy preparing the new work for my solo show. So I've decided it's best to take a break from blogging for the next month or so (including the photo-a-day posts) so that I can really focus all of my energies on the work. Wearable Nostalgia opens December 5th at Luke & Elloy Gallery in Pittsburgh and I am still not quite ready just yet… yikes!

I'll be picking up blogging regularly again December 1st, but for now I bid you farewell. As always, thank you so much for all your support and encouragement, and for following along with my blogging adventures… it means the world to me!

Now, if it were me, I wouldn't abandon the blogging. Exploit it. The blog isn't a chore - it's your friend. It helps bring customers and media attention. Pump your readers for ideas and inspiration - Barbie belly button piercings for navels, headbands woven with real Barbie hair, hairclips out of barbie hands, lipstick tubes made out of Barbie lips, or even jewelry designed to fit in with certain style periods (art deco, fifties, the 80s and more - the possibilities are literally endless. How about Barbie Eggs - like Faberge eggs - only with Barbie elements and themes? I want to see you sell a 'Barbie' Egg for 100,000 at Sotheby's on Easter. Artists tend to be introverted and the blog is a powerful tool to reach out - and communicate and to keep the work fun. Remember we're here in your corner. ;-)

Well...that's my 25 cent impersonation of Ann Landers (or Dear Abby if you prefer). Have fun!
