Cross-legged

Cross-legged Brooch
© Margaux Lange 2011
sterling silver, nickel silver, plastic Barbie doll legs, resin.

The knees articulate, so she can do a bit of a can-can routine if desired…

This brooch was completed for the upcoming ABeCeDarian Exhibition at Facéré Jewelry Art Gallery in Seattle opening May 18, 2011. The exhibit will be on display during this year's SNAG conference.

Each artist was assigned a letter of the alphabet and asked to create a piece inspired by that letter. My letter was K… for knees! I'm really happy with how this piece turned out. It's sassy, silly, sexy and fun. What do you all think?

I think it's adorable, I'd love to see it on an actual scarf or outfit! Would take a super sassy person to wear it!! I'd try to keep shoes on it to match whatever outfit I was wearing...double sided sticky tape does wonders!!

This is hysterically fabulous! Yes! Shoes! Cast some in gold and glue them to her feet!

I'd totally wear it. And hang it on my wall. ;D

This would be good as stud earrings?!

I love that the setting looks like a set of gears!

Thanks everyone! I'm so happy this piece is getting a positive response!

Rowan - they would be VERY heavy studs!

Anon - I had not even considered that the silverwork looked like gears before now… I LOVE that! Adds whole other levels of meaning and interest.
