Trunk Show in California

 

 

Saturday MAY 11, 2-5pm  

I'll be traveling to Rancho Sante Fe, CA for my first trunk show experience as part of a Wine, Women & Shoes benefit event for Voices for Children, an organization that transforms the lives of abused children in San Diego County by providing them with volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates. A portion of all sales from the show will directly benefit the Voices for Children organization. 

I'll have brand new one-of-a-kinds as well as production pieces for sale. Join me for a fabulous afternoon filled with shopping for a worthy cause, a fashion show, and delicious food and wine! I'm really thrilled with how they turned out. Many thanks to my designer hubby David Balogh, and to Tara Locklear who turned me on to Mindzai Creative, the company that printed the cards. The cards have a beautiful silky-soft finish that makes me want to rub it all over my cheek over and over. No seriously, I can't stop doing that.

I'll be taking part in Beacon Open Studios this year for the first time and I couldn't be more excited! If you've never visited Beacon before, this is the perfect excuse to get out and meet some fantastic artists in their natural habitats. I'll be set up over at the studio of my friend Lori Merhige along with Kit Burke-Smith. Ryan Havers of The Vontons will be performing! Come say hello!

Out of the Box: Trends in Contemporary Jewelry opens at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art January 25th, 2013 and on view through April 28, 2013. I'm truly honored to be a part of such a wonderful exhibition! Other amazing artists in the exhibition include: Arthur Hash, Emiko Oye, Rachel Rader, Lauren Kalman, Rachel Timmins, Joe Churchman and Jennifer Crupi. 

From the vMOCA website: "MOCA will explore and celebrate the emerging trends that are taking place in contemporary jewelry. As artists move away from traditional jewelry making materials, boundaries are crossed and whole new categories are evolving. As patrons move through this exhibition, they won’t have to ask whether it is sculpture, installation or jewelry. The answer will be yes to all of the above."

The three brooches above are a part of my new 'Plume' series and will be included in the exhibition along with a couple of older pieces (my 14 Giggles Bracelet and Busted Heart Pendant.)
