TimeOut New York

It has been quite the week of exciting press for me. My interview and studio visit with TimeOut New York is here! Available this week (September 17-23) on page 38 in the Seek section. This feature is a huge honor for me because, like most New Yorkers, I depend on this mag to keep up with what's happening in NYC.

It's rather funny to me that I'm featured in their official "Sex Issue." Sex sells (or so they say) so hopefully that means even more people will see the full page interview! Love Design

I finally have a copy of Love Design, published by German publishing house Daab. I was pleased to discover a three page spread of my jewelry inside the 380+ page book. It's a beautifully curated selection of contemporary designers and their work dealing with themes of love, intimacy, sensuality, and sex. I am thrilled to have my work featured. A woman in Australia decided to get a tattoo of my "Busted Heart Necklace" on her lower back. It's kind of amazing to think that she'll be permanently wearing my necklace, in a sense, for the rest of her life… flattering in a way.

POP Craft

These are some photos of my work on display on a wall at the POP Craft Exhibition in Boston, MA. The opening reception is tonight at the Society of Arts & Crafts 6-8pm. If you're in the area go check it out. It will be on display through October 22, 2009. You can read a review of the exhibit here. Unfortunately I won't be attending the opening tonight. In honor of labor day! OK so it's not a photo from my studio, but… I made this pie for a labor day weekend picnic with friends and it looked so pretty in the sunlight I just had to take a photo. (My mama would be proud - I finally got the meringue just right!) I hope you all had a lovely long weekend.

A couple members of the etsy metal crew sent me a link to a photo of a pregnant Judith doll that someone had found online while researching for their latest jewelry design challenge, which this week, happens to do with pregnancy. So in their honor, I thought I'd post a photo of the one-legged, headless, pregnant Judith doll I acquired on one of my many Barbie scavenging adventures. She sits on display in my studio. I rather cherish her, in all her oddness. The head sitting to the right of her is from a sleeping beauty Barbie - her eyes open and close.
