© Margaux Lange 2009

This necklace is a one-of-a-kind, made special for my holiday contest. It's made of sterling silver and pigmented resins, featuring a bright red barbie doll smile and patina finishing on an 18" chain. Festive and lovely, this necklace is the perfect conversation piece for those upcoming holiday parties! If you haven't entered the contest yet… be sure to do so soon. (see previous blog post for details.)

And thanks again for all your support!

Announcing… 3rd Annual Holiday Contest!

It's that time of year again folks…

THE ANNUAL HOLIDAY CONTEST STARTS TODAY!
Here's what you need to do to win:

• first, you have to be a fan of Margaux Lange Jewelry on Facebook to enter (not yet a fan? it's easy: click here)

• then take a guess how many blondes are in the crate pictured above (these are heads only)

• leave your guess in the comments on my facebook fan page (guesses entered here on the blog will not count so be sure to go to my FB page to enter!)

• make sure you check what other people have guessed first before picking a number. It would be a shame if someone else picked the same number first.

• the person who guesses the number first - or closest to the number - will win a necklace!

The holiday contest is always so much fun for me. It's my chance to give back and let you all know how much I appreciate your continued support. So hop on over to Facebook and win! and happy holidays to you all!

The King & Queen

Here's another one of the pieces from my solo show which I am particularly fond of…

King & Queen Brooch
© Margaux Lange 2009

This brooch was a fun one for me because it allowed me to play around with narrative, which I'm enjoying more and more in my work. Depending on the positioning on the wearer's clothing, you can change the "relationship" of the king and queen, creating a playful dialog between the characters. Still available at Luke & Eloy Gallery.

Wearable Nostalgia

Swimming Smile Brooch sold

We're back from our Pittsburgh adventures! The opening of Wearable Nostalgia went really well on Saturday despite some snowy weather. Luke & Eloy is a wonderful gallery located in the Lawrenceville area of Pittsburgh, and is beautifully curated by owner Brigitte Martin (of crafthaus fame.)

My work looked great displayed in two large glass cases near the front of the shop. Dave and I had a lovely time chatting with Brigitte and her patrons. We met some wonderful people including a lot of local artists and metalsmiths from the Pittsburgh area (I even had a chance to meet ROY - who was kind enough to bring me a bag of Barbie dolls!) Thanks to everyone who came out and showed their support, it really meant a lot.

The exhibition has already gotten some great press! It was featured on ABC 4 evening news during a segment entitled "Check it Out" (watch the clip here.) and it was also mentioned on Pittsburgh's POPcity media blog.

I'll be revealing more photos in the days to come but here's a few of the works that were part of the show. If you didn't get a chance to make it to the opening, and/or you're interested in purchasing work from the exhibit, the show will be on view at Luke & Eloy Gallery through January 16th (contact info here.)
